I recently discovered something to make with junk mail... snowflakes! That's what I did over the weekend. It feels good to make something beautiful of all that extra paper that would otherwise be thrown away!
Many thanks to Michelle of Michelle Made Me for the idea and the awesome tutorial. I had completely forgotten how to make snowflakes. So this tutorial is appreciated :)
The snowflakes are now taped to my windows. The colors really show when the sun shines through them. I could look at them all day!
I am in love with these snowflakes !
ReplyDeleteAnd how much better knowing what they are made from !!
Great idea!! I just threw out some. boo. ;)
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! We get enough junk mail to create a blizzard! lol Gonna make some tonight.
ReplyDeleteThese look so beautiful hanging in your window, great job with all the varieties you made!!
ReplyDeleteColored snowflakes are surprisingly beautiful. Have you ever looked at the insides of security envelopes? I might try this with those. Not so colorful, but interesting patterns.
ReplyDeletethey don't look this pretty when they're junk mail! what a great solution!
ReplyDeleteHow clever - plenty of junk mail to do that with. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteVery unique look - how fun!
ReplyDeleteI love these! This would be a really fun idea for decor at work next year!
ReplyDeletePopped over from Tatortots blog.
ReplyDeleteThese are really cool. I will have to do this with my kids at school.

You are talented! The last time I tried to make snowflakes the pattern was not impressive, these are. The colors of the paper really adds life to them. Maybe you could show us one of your snowflake patterns...
