A Flower Photo and Some Random Thoughts

Here's a Dahlia from my front yard!  It's so pretty.. I could look at it all day :)

And now for the random thoughts...

  • I have some really awesome readers and supporters out there!  Thank you all so much!  I woke up this morning to some comments from a few of you that just really made my day :)  Blogging is fun, but it's also hard work.  Sometimes I don't know if it's all worth it, but today I was reminded that yes, it is worth it!  I feel like I'm doing something good here and not just wasting my time with arts, crafts, and web surfing- even though some may see it that way.
  • Repainting a dresser is super hard work!  I've spent the past two weeks working on one and it's proving to be grueling, back breaking work.  I have a new found respect for all those people out there that refinish furniture.
  • I still love having my own house and my own yard.  Our apartment dwelling days are still fresh in my memory and I don't think I could ever live like that again.  It doesn't get much better than hanging out in our own shady back yard on a summer evening.  We bought a rope swing for our son and it's proving to be one of the best investments we ever made!
Alright, I've had my say.  Now it's your turn!  What's on your mind today?

  1. I'm jealous of your dahlia! It is gorgeous! I had intended to plant some this year and just forgot. Next year... And, I'm now re-thinking my plans to repaint our old dresser. Maybe it's not worth the work.

  2. Lovely flower. I do enjoy your blog, so I hope you have time to continue with it. Refinishing furniture is, indeed, hard work. Hope it brings you years of pleasure in the end. Ditto your feelings on apartments. Houses require lots of work, but you can decide what to do, and when to do, and how to do it. If you stay put long enough--it's yours to keep! Don't mind having a bit of breathing room between me and the neighbors ;-)

  3. That is a stunning photo of the Dahlia! I do know where you are coming from with the blog thoughts but it's so nice to have virtual blogging friends around from all over the world, people who you would never get to meet or connect with in the ordinary way, so stick at it girl!! You could always have a week or so off and come back refreshed.
I also know exactly where you are coming from with the apartment thoughts. We live in an apartment/flat and although it's a lovely area I absolutely hate living in a flat and really, really want a garden. I hope one day we are able to move to a house and garden. xx

  4. What a stunning photo! Just beautiful. My garden is overgrown with weeds, so at least I can admire other people's gardens. :)

  5. Hi Elise,
You are not the only one feeling that blogging is a lot of work and yes sometimes there is time you are asking yourself if it's all worth it. For me it is a platform where I can express myself. So far, I like it. Although there is a moment like {you know what I am talking about} but I think I just have to keep on going. As long as I happy doing it. And so far I do! So I guess we just have to keep on going. LOL...! I can't tell you how I or we want to move out of your apartment right now. We do need a bigger place. We are looking for a bigger condo with a little bit of a garden. We like the idea to just close the door and go and have other people taking care of the garden and shuffle the snow. I know, we are old people...hahahaa....!!! Have a fantastic week end Elise!
