Last year I bought this dress:
Classy huh? It reminds me of my mom's old bridesmaids dresses I used to play dress-up in as a kid. Well I had plans to re-vamp this dress and turn it into something wearable. I tried to customize the dress and when that failed I tried to make it into a skirt........ which also failed. sad.
My last resort was a scarf...and then I still had extra fabric so I tried a headband. Finally! Something worked!
You can find the tutorial for the Infinity Scarf at The Cottage Moma.
The tutorial for the headband is at Un Petit Squab.
Hi, long time no see!! Fabulous makes and the headband is something I so need for keeping my mop of hair out of my eyes when I've got camera in hand! xx
ReplyDeleteThanks and yes, it has been a while! Thanks for dropping by!

ReplyDeleteThe material looks great as a scarf! What a great idea!
ReplyDeleteI especially love the scarf!
ReplyDeletePs. I arrived here via somedaycrafts.
the scarf is awesome!! they take so much fabric, so its perfect to use a thrifted item!! Pinning!
ReplyDeleteThanks for pinning Emily!
DeleteBeautiful! I really wish I had an eye for things like this. I can never envision anything except the outdated mess sitting in front of me. I bet I've walked away from some really great fabric because I can't see past it's current appearance!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean! Sometimes the smells drive me away from stuff. I just have to remember that it can be washed and turned into something beautiful.
DeleteGreat job restoring that fabric to its former glory! I love what you did with it...the scarf and headband are perfect! Thanks for sharing at my Creative Ways Link Party! Hope you'll be back this week!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Nici
