Abstract Landscape Watercolor Paintings, Ocean and Sky, by Elise Engh: Grow Creative

I don't know why I don't paint more abstracts.  I always have fun when I do!

Lately, I'm into abstracts that sort of look like landscapes, like these that remind me of the ocean and sky.  I had those in mind while painting :)

Pegasus may only take three lines, the sun a curve or golden colours throughout, odd geometric shapes of colour have represented my garden in full bloom, but bore no resemblance to a single flower...
Very good question Elise; it's like a little nudge to open up my sketch book and get out my water colours!

    1. Thanks for sharing your process with me Laurie! I think I kinda do the same thing. I don't really have any specific abstract artist in mind, I just like to play with color a lot. I've always admired van gogh and monet- even though they are not abstract, but they did such a good job of creating a feeling in their work. That's what I like about it :)
