I discovered these beauties only about a mile from my house!
I don't think I've ever seen this kind of cactus blossom before.

It always surprises me what I find in these dry deserty hills.  There's more out there than you would think!

    I am loving your photo sharing of the desert wildflowers!
    I can hardly wait to see the flower that forms on the broad leaved plant in the third photo! There is such a richness in the colour density of the blues and greens.
    Were there hummingbirds flying about? I think they are the pollinators for these cacti.

      I didn't notice any hummingbirds on my little hike- I haven't seen any in this area yet. But I'll keep my eyes open for them! Thanks Laurie!
