Sometimes the paintings just flow from me, like a steady stream of joy and peace. Those are the best painting sessions. I come away feeling like I've done some sort of mental yoga. I feel centered and happy.
One rainy evening a few weeks ago, I got out my paints. It had been a hard, emotional day for me. I've been dealing with more back pain after I thought I had finally resolved it. It was getting to me that day and I needed a way to let those sad, discouraged feelings go. So painting for me at that moment, was just what I needed.
I didn't look at pictures of flowers for reference. I just painted what I felt and this is what happened. It was one of those magical painting moments where the inspiration flowed freely. I wish it could be like that all the time!
I painted three 9x12 "Fire Flower" watercolor paintings and one 8x10 flower and fern painting. I was really feeling the blues and oranges, corals, and peach colors. They so delicately compliment each other. I can't get enough of those colors!
Each of these paintings are for sale in my Etsy Shop.
These would be beautiful painted directly on an entire wall! Such soft, comforting colors.
