Photos of the Week

I can't begin to post a fraction of the photos I took at the central California coast over the last week. We were completely enthralled by the beauty of Big Sur, Monterey Bay, and Carmel-by-the-Sea.  Most of the time I felt like I was in fairy tale land. The misty coast and turquoise blue waters are a site to behold.

It was our 11th wedding anniversary last week and I feel so lucky to have married a man of substance, of real character.  He is my life, my very best friend on this planet.  It was amazing to spend so much alone time together.  We played on the beach, running and splashing in the waves like we were kids.  It's good to pretend to be a kid once in a while!

And the whales were absolutely incredible! We took a whale watching tour in the bay of Monterey and got very lucky. The whales were very active that day.  There is nothing like seeing them in the wild.  I could have watched them all day long!

Now we're back home and back to regular life.  It's hard to come back from dreamland, but we missed our son and we have much to do.  I've decided to look into getting some more help for my back pain.  It's been acting up a lot lately. And while facing more painful experiments to find a solution scares me, I know it's the way forward. So here we go! I will be looking back on these photos and memories during my hard times.  I'll always have Monterey!

  1. It is like Fairyland and like Dreamland all rolled into one down there along the central coast!
And you saw a pod of whales surfacing! That's just crazy magical!
You are brave to face your fear and move into it to find a solution to your back issue.
    Blessings to you.

    1. Yes it sure is a dream land! And the whales- that was the best part of the trip! Thanks for your kind words and encouragement. I hope things are going well for you Laurie!

  2. It looks like an incredible vacation. Happy anniversary! We're just recently home from our vacation to Utah, and I'm hoping to do a post about it. Thanks for your suggestions. It was beyond anything I'd expected and if Utah was in Canada I'd want to move there tomorrow.

    1. Thank you! I'm glad you had fun on your Utah trip! I can't wait to read about it!
